Customer Service Representative

Metal Supermarkets, the world’s largest supplier of small-quantity metals, is seeking a Customer Service Representative to join our team.  Known worldwide as The Convenience Stores for Metal, we are a business to business brand with over 85 brick-and-mortar stores across the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.  We have been providing businesses and consumers with quality customer service and products since 1985.  Our company is experiencing strong growth, and to support that growth we need to expand our team.

Objectives

The main objective of the Customer Service Representative is to service the needs of the customer base that contact us by telephone, fax, e-mail or as walk-in business. This individual is expected to be aware of and support all goals relating to sales plans and costs and to conduct him/herself in a professional manner conducive to generating a team attitude toward maintaining effective customer relationships.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide consistent, superior service by ensuring that all customer needs are recognized and serviced, and satisfaction is highly maintained at all times
• Support the achievement of sales/budget targets, which includes attention to maintaining stock control, gross margins and managing cost budgets
• Prepare customer orders based on material and size specifications
• Prepare material for shipment by truck, courier or customer pickup
• Provide proper maintenance of equipment and keep work area clean and safe for customers and other employees
• Receive, identify and stock incoming materials as per receiving procedures. These inventory responsibilities include identifying inventory needs
• Pick up materials at suppliers when needed
• Deliver materials to customers when needed
• Perform other duties as directed by Store Manager

Requirements

• GED or high school diploma required
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record and insurable
• Positive interactive skills
• Computer literacy
• Courteousness
• Exceptional phone techniques and etiquette
• Exceptional active listening, communication and customer services skills
• Must be a lawful resident of the United States eligible for employment
• Metal and metal related product knowledge a definite asset but not required
