The staff at Metal Supermarkets Charleston is extremely helpful and friendly, and the price can’t be beat for low volume orders! It’s great to have a place around that doesn’t just cater to large volume industrial accounts, since I regularly fabricate for personal use and will never need (or be able to afford) a massive shipment of material. I love being able to get quality steel that’s properly spec-ed (I was able to specify 1018 rather than just “hot rolled” or “cold rolled” like at the hardware store). This is critical when you’re building something that has some degree of load bearing (definitely don’t want a motorcycle sissy bar to fail due to low grade rod). I will definitely be back for all my future metal needs!
