It is convenient to grab a few small pieces of metal. But the pricing is high and sometimes and extra 50-75% more than BMG Metals or other metal suppliers. The manager at the Alexandria store says the metal is a stronger steel. That maybe true, but, I’m not using it for structural purposes. The pricing isn’t that far off from Lowes or Home Depot. So if I’m not looking for a specific style, I will just go to those box stores and pick up the small piece I need. Except for plate steel or aluminum. The box stores are ridiculous. I do a lot of metal projects and don’t mind getting 20′ pieces.

The location is the reason for the high recommendation. We’ve had some issues with delivery drivers leaving without making contact via phone or in person rather than dropping off metal. Our business has each dept head manage orders and sometimes the invoices are sent to wrong people or not at all. All new-location growing pains that I hope will improve.
